Education, community food access, research, and workforce development.
Community Food Access
Fresh eggs, microgreens, mushrooms, and produce donated directly to Monroe County families and food pantries. Our farm produces complete nutrition coverage — calories, protein, all essential vitamins and minerals — for 29 people year-round from 18 acres. The vending hub and Route 115 farm stand make fresh, locally-produced food available 24/7.
Educational Programs
Workshops — 12 per year: mushroom cultivation, aquaponics, container farming, and bee management. Hands-on in operating containers with live Grafana dashboards.
School field trips — Curriculum-aligned K–12 visits. Students walk all 12 stops and interact with live sensors and production systems.
Farm tours — 90-minute guided experience through all 12 production stations. Every stop has live sensor data and a purchase opportunity.
Youth programs — On-farm training in sustainable agriculture, technology, and food production year-round.
Research
SARE-aligned research focusing on the integration between container farming, aquaponics, mushroom cultivation, BSF bioconversion, and indoor pollination. Analysis of SARE’s project database confirms that our integrated approach has no existing research precedent. Active areas: BSF larvae as aquaculture feed, mushroom extracts for bee health, indoor pollination yield optimization, biofloc shrimp in containers, and biochar from farm wood waste.
Appetite AI — Health & Nutrition App
A free iOS and Android app using wearable health data, real-time hunger scoring, and AI meal scheduling. No subscriptions, no accounts required. Also integrates with farm operations for online ordering, CSA subscriptions, and vending machine access. Pending Apple and Google Store approval.
Consulting & Replication
Container farm replication consulting for organizations wanting to build similar systems. We document everything — sensor configurations, container layouts, crop schedules, nutrient cycling protocols — so other communities can build independently self-sustaining food production systems.
